Trump: Erdogan and Netanyahu Won’t Have Any Issues Between Them

US President Donald Trump, after his meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida, stated that he knows Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan very well and they have a good friendship. Trump emphasized his respect for both Erdogan and Netanyahu, saying that they won’t have any issues between them.

Trump’s evaluation regarding the possibility of conflict between Turkey and Israel was positive. Trump said, “I know President Erdogan very well, he is a very good friend of mine. I respect him. Netanyahu also respects him. There won’t be any problem between them. We won’t have any issues,” and announced that they are in a serious evaluation process regarding the sale of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.

Trump Makes Statements Regarding Syria and Iran

Trump stated that Turkish President Erdogan played an important role in the political transition process in Syria and deserved praise for helping overthrow Assad. Also, regarding a potential attack on Iran, he said, “Iran knows the consequences of what they will do. You know the results will be very severe, maybe even more severe than last time. When Iran was given options before, they should have made a deal with us.”

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also emphasized the importance of a peaceful border with Syria during his meeting with Trump. Netanyahu mentioned that even though they have different opinions, the meeting was productive. He also stated that Trump wants to see genuine reforms accepted in the Palestinian administration.

During Trump and Netanyahu’s meeting, Israeli-Syrian relations and regional issues were discussed, and they both highlighted the necessity of taking significant steps forward.
